The Audi Detroit e-Tron concept

Picture
The Audi Detroit e-tron is the second eletric concept to come from Audi. What's more, it's rumored the Detroit e-tron concept will eventually be released for production as the R4 e-tron. A 2-seater like the R8-based Frankfurt e-tron, the Detroit concept weighs less-only 3000 lb. of lithium-ion batteries. Two eletric motors, with a combined power of 204 hp, mount independently on the rear axel to allow for a torque vectoring system for better handling.  The to 60mph is said to take just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed just shy of 125mph; realistic range between charges is 150 miles. A charge time of 11 hours is expected with a 230-volt system. We suspect the Detoit e-tron concept has been designed to accept a more conventional power source for production, possibly a supercharged V-6 or a turbocharged inline-4.
